A Natural Histoy of the Senses Relief Sculpture

Relief Sculpture Angle 1 (Above) - "Fading Violet" Styrofoam, Ink, Hot glue, Wood glue (14'' x 12'')

Detail #1 (Above) - All the shapes were hand cut from Styrofoam and then covered and shaded with ink

Detail #2 (Above) - (The coating on the top of the stryofoam repels the ink, so if you cut it away the ink permeates further into the styrofoam which results in a deeper color - the focus on the piece is how the smell of violets can't stick around due to it's chemical composition so some parts being vibrant while others are faded is intentional)
